Document Description
The Project is limited to the East Creek Slough Mitigation Project (Project) to address tidal scour at East Creek Slough Bridge (Bridge No. 33-0143) on Interstate 880 (I-880) at post mile (PM) 27.23. The Project will address the undermining and scour of the East Creek Slough Bridge at approach slabs for Abutments 1 and 5. The Project will include the following elements: a creek diversion system to keep the work area dry, installation of high-density polyurethane (HDPE) plastic lumber to the face of the abutments to retain the soil and structural backfill, installation of rock slope protection (RSP) to prevent scouring, installation of structural backfill (injection of lightweight cellular concrete and polyurethane foam) to fill the voids under the abutments, and replacement of the existing northbound and southbound concrete approach slabs with new concrete approach slabs.
