Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-SOL-55802-R3), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, California Department of Transportation. The Project involves demolishing existing overhangs and railing along both sides of the bridge, constructing new overhangs, and installing new ST-75 Post and Beam Bridge Rail. Modifications to the bridge superstructure will be necessary to support added weight from new rails and overhangs. Modifications include adding concrete struts that will extend from the outermost longitudinal girders to the outer edge of new overhangs and install intermediate diaphragms between the middle and outermost longitudinal girders. After existing overhangs and railing are demolished, the contractor will begin constructing the new overhang, struts, and intermediate diaphragms. Wooden falsework for concrete will be erected and used to form new overhangs, struts, and diaphragms. Concrete will be used to embed ST-75 railing into the overhangs. The concrete will be pumped into the falsework from trucks parked on the bridge deck. Falsework will be removed after the concrete finishes curing. Crews will work from scaffolding attached to the bridge. Cranes located at the northwest and southeast side of the bridge will deliver material and remove debris.
