Document Description
The proposed Morello Park Elementary School Renovation Project ("Project") involves the construction of two kindergarten classrooms with a shared play area, expansion of the existing administration building, as well as the addition of a new kitchen building adjacent, and connected, to the existing multipurpose room. The expanded administration building will create a single point of entry to the campus which will allow the administration to effectively control access to the campus. The Project also includes the installation of perimeter site fencing and fencing that will separate the playfields from the campus and the parking areas. Such fencing is required to enclose and secure the campus. The multipurpose room and library will also be modernized as part of the Project. The library will be renovated in order to expand the computer lab to make it a multi-use space. General classroom modernizations include new blinds, window coverings, carpeting and interior wall surfaces. In order to maintain all facilities in proper working condition, the exteriors of the buildings will be painted as needed and required roof restorations and replacement will be completed in order to extend the life and warranty of the roofing. The site work for the Project includes the reconfiguration of a portion of one of the grass playing fields into a new staff parking lot with sixty (60) parking spaces and the construction of a new circulation/drop-off loop. Additionally, the Woodbridge Day Care program will be relocated to the southeast side of the campus. The Project will also include upgrades, extensions, relocation, and/or replacement of existing utilities and other utility work, as necessary, including electrical, mechanical, water, sewer, telecommunication, and/or other utilities; and other improvements appurtenant thereto. Site demolition, earthwork, minor grading, asphalt and site work will occur in preparation of the site for installation of the new buildings. Site lighting, site furnishings, and landscaping are also included in the project. Construction is anticipated to commence in the Spring of 2023 with an expected Summer of 2024 completion date. This Project would benefit the District staff, students, and local community.
