Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-RIV-27987-R6, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison as represented by Hazem Gabr. The project is limited to removing and replacing one deteriorated wood pole (Pole 1885590E) and installing one caisson. The pole will be accessed by truck from the east through the Temecula Creek golf course. The new pole will be set by truck approximately 1 foot from the old pole location. Excavation depths range between 20 and 30 feet with a diameter of 3.5 to 4 feet. The new caisson will consist of a 36-inch diameter and will be constructed with 12-gauge steel or better. The new pole will be embedded 9.5 feet below the ground surface, and the space between the pole and the caisson will be filled with concrete. The area between the caisson and native material, approximately 6 inches around the caisson, will be backfilled with two-sac slurry. The concrete will be mixed off site. The new concrete filled caisson will extend 5 feet above the ground surface. The area of soil disturbance (i.e., excavation, side casting and backfill) and staging of equipment will be limited to a truncated 10-foot buffer around the pole, as well as a truncated 25-foot temporary work area around the pole for the staging and operation of construction vehicles and equipment. The western portion of the work area will be truncated to avoid impacts to the adjacent flowing stream. Access to the work area will require approximately 25 linear feet of overland travel.
