Reasons for Exemption
The work of this project will all occur within existing public facilities. There will not be a need for additional right-of-way to be acquired in order to carry out this project, thus there will not be any expansion of use associated with this project. The improvements are intended to extend the service life of the various existing roads that are part of the project and improve overall roadway safety with new striping, signage, and markings. Furthermore, pursuant to Section 15300.2 (Exceptions) there is not a reasonable expectation that this project will cause a significant cumulative effect on the local environment due to unusual circumstances associated with this project because it is not adding additional lanes or constructing new facilities. Similarly, the various roadway segments are not classified as scenic highways. There is not any officially designated historical or scenic resource within the project limits that may be affected. Additionally, the project limits will not include any site what has been included on any list compiled pursuant to Section 65962.5 of the Government Code.
