Document Description
The project would update the current scale facility and provide Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) capabilities. The facility is needed to ensure compliance with state regulations, minimize transport delays, and prolong pavement life. The project includes installing a new WIM facility; repairs to the existing concrete scale pad; rehabilitation of asphalt pavement ramps, lanes and parking; upgrade and extend guardrail; upgrades to lighting and weather station; and installation of a waterline from the CALFIRE station water supply to the facility.

Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of upgrades to an existing scale facility at its existing location. Existing concrete, pavement, lighting, guardrail, and weather station will be improved with no expansion of capacity. The new WIM facility and waterline will replace existing systems with no or negligible expansion of capacity. The weigh station will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the facility it is upgrading.
