Document Description
UC Davis proposes the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital (VMTH) Dentistry Relocation project which will renovate Rooms 2175 and 2175a at the VMTH. The expanded dentistry suite will house three state-of-the-art treatment stations, a sterilization center, and an office with six administrative workstations. The renovation includes HVAC system and electrical system upgrades, new sinks at the treatment consoles and the sterilization center. A new dental air compressor and dry vacuum system will be installed in the storage/equipment room and piped to the dental stations and throughout the treatment room. A monitoring camera system will be provided for educational purposes and enhanced client communication.

The renovation existing space qualifies as categorically exempt under Exemption Class 1 of the Guidelines for the Implementation to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This exemption applies to the operation, repair, maintenance or minor alteration of existing structures, facilities or mechanical equipment, involving negligible or no expansion of an existing use. In addition, none of the exceptions for application of a categorical exemption apply to this project. The proposed project is consistent the Academic and Administrative land use designation of the 2018 LRDP.
