Document Description
Install a temporary kiosk, grade the park road, and create two staff parking spaces at Mineral Bar Campground within Auburn State Recreation Area to accommodate increased visitation, improve recreational opportunities, and improve accessibility. Work will use heavy equipment and hand tools to:
• Remove one (1) Redbud tree;
• Bring in up to 35 cubic yards of fill to level the ground and cover the fill slope with river rock backing;
• Excavate to pour an 18 foot by 18 foot by 6 inch thick concrete slab to install a prefabricated 8 foot by 8 foot kiosk;
• Remove the existing asphalt park road at the entrance, grade and pour new asphalt to meet ADA standards; and
• Place approximately 60 yards of aggregated base to establish two (2) parking spaces for staff that meet ADA standards.

Project consists of the operation, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees; and construction, or placement of minor structures accessory to (appurtenant to) existing commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities and is included as “Modification of existing facilities for disabled access” and “Placement of kiosks, lifeguard towers, portable toilets” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4;
