The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS-SHA-38064-R1, pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project Applicant, City of Redding. The project is limited to repairing and restoring flood-damage at a viewing and seating area located along the Sacramento River Trail. Specific work includes removal of the existing damaged facility and backfill and buildup of the bank with imported materials to replace lost materials in-kind, including vegetated rip-rap with geotextile fabric. The project will not remove trees, but tree trimming will be required for equipment access. The trail seating and embankment repair will result in 0.025 acres of permanent impact to perennial/riverine waters from the installation of 25 cubic yards of vegetated ¼-ton rip-rap. The rip-rap will be begin below the high-water level and extend up the bank to the platform.
