Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a project to replace three (3) culverts in Amador County along State Route (SR) 88 at post miles (PM) 5.4, 33.4, and 33.7. The scope of work at PM 5.4 includes replacing the existing 24” Corrugated Steel Pipe (CSP) with a 24” Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) and installing a 24” concrete Flared End Section (FES) at the inlet and outlet. At PM 33.4, the existing 12” CSP will be replaced with a 24” RCP, a 24” concrete FES will be installed at the outlet, and the inlet will be paved. At PM 33.7, the existing 12” CSP will be replaced with an 18” RCP and an 18” concrete FES will be installed at the outlet. All work will occur within existing Caltrans ROW. The purpose of the project is to repair or replace damaged culverts that threaten failure of the overlying SR-88. The project is needed to ensure traveler safety over these drainages.
