Document Description
The purpose of the Project is to repair and extend an existing pier by 32 feet, convert an existing fixed catwalk to an adjustable catwalk, remove an existing buoy, and install a new boat lift on the subject property in Lake Tahoe. Pier extension will require removal of (six) 14-inch diameter wood pilings and the installation of (ten) 10 3/4 inch diameter steel pilings. The conversion of the fixed catwalk to an adjustable catwalk will require the removal of (eight) 4x6 inch fender pilings and the installation of (three) 4x4 inch steel pilings. Piling removal and reconstruction activities will be accomplished using equipment staged and/or mounted on an amphibious barge to avoid and minimize potential temporary lakebed disturbance. Caissons will be used during pile removal and installation to minimize potential sediment discharge. All construction materials will be staged on the barge and the barge will be removed from the lake during inclement weather.
