Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), using state funds, is proposing to perform pavement overlay activities on State Route 32, post mile (PM) 14.0 to 20.0, Tehama County. Project implementation includes a 0.10' asphalt overlay with digouts. The road surface would be cold planed to match existing roadway features. All work would be performed within existing roadbed hinge points; no work would occur on bridge decks. Shoulders would be backed to standard. Guardrail would be reconstructed or adjusted as necessary. The purpose of the project is to preserve the roadway in a state where minimal maintenance is required, improve ride quality, and extend the service life of the existing pavement. The project is needed because the pavement has degraded to a point where maintenance is required to extend its service life.
