The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes improvements to a 5-mile stretch of State Route 14 in Kern County. The project would rehabilitate the existing roadbed, upgrade existing bridge railing and metal beam guardrailing, upgrade drainage systems, reconfigure the north and south junction of Business Route 58 and State Route 14, construct an acceleration lane at Purdy Avenue, construct sidewalks and driveways, and bring curb ramps up to Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
