Reasons for Exemption
Project includes the construction of advanced water treatment equipment on the existing WRF site. The advanced water treatment capacity is planned. Therefore, the Class 1 exemption is applicable. The advanced treatment system building footprint would be relatively small (10,000 square feet), and would be consistent with the existent infrastructure at the WRF site. Therefore, the Class 3 exemption is applicable. The purpose of the proposed project is to provide water treatment to address high concentrations of chloride in groundwater. The overall objective is to enable final compliance with the Waste Discharge Requirements Prder No. R4-2018-0022 and CDO for chlorine concentration (Order No. R4-2018-0023). Therefore, the Class 30 exemption is applicable.
