Document Description
The project involves implementation of drainage rehabilitation in three separate locations to improve water quality, reduce flooding, augment groundwater resources, and enhance habitat for threatened and endangered species. The locations include: 1. The Mall along both sides of Sonoma Ave.2. Calaveras Ave between Humbolt and Kern Aves. 3. Officer's Club drainage, see attached figures. The Sonoma Ave Mall and Calaveras Ave projects will develop bioswales which involves stabilization of barren ditches with placement of rock/gravel and planting of native plants to arrest erosion and sediment delivery into Chorro Creek. The Officer's Club drainage includes repairs of the drainage head cut and restructuring of channelized drainage to slow water flow, halt erosion and sedimentation in downstream creeks. Total ground disturbance for the project totals approximately 37,000 square feet (0.85 acres) with maximum disturbance depths of approximately 30-36 inches.
