Document Description
Westland Water District (WWD) has requested permission to encroach in the Department of Water Resources' right-of-way to remove and replace a section of pipeline and to install a butterfly valve and booster pump at the pipeline irrigation crossing on the right side of California Aqueduct milepost 113.00R. An existing 12-inch diameter long-radius elbow pipe that is 50.75 inches long will be removed and replaced with a new 12-inch diameter standard elbow pipe that is 24 inches long. To remove the long-radius elbow pipe, WWD will unbolt it from the existing flange and connect the new standard elbow pipe to the flange. The standard elbow pipe will be attached to a booster pump that will be temporarily mounted on a five-foot wide by eight-foot-long trailer until a permanent location is identified by the adjacent property owner and WWD. A 12-inch butterfly valve will be installed downstream of the reducer to make the connection from the 18-inch diameter steel pipe that is attached to the undercrossing concrete block to the booster pump. The approximate work area size is 15 feet wide by 15 feet long. Excavation is not required for this work.
