Document Description
The City of Hanford proposes to install a traffic signal at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Hume Avenue. There will be small right of way takes to accommodate curbs, sidewalks, gutters and pavement. There are no environmental commitments associated with this project. Build-out and signalization of this intersection will improve and benefit traffic safety for the City of Hanford and visiting traffic to the area.

The City of Hanford has determined the project to be exempt from environmental review pursuant to Section 15303 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, which covers construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures such as up to four commercial buildings not exceeding 10,000 sf; and other specified small structures. This project involves the construction of roadway improvements within slivers of right-of-way to be acquired comparable to work that would be necessary to extend underground utility services within street rights-of-way (a type of small project expressly exempt under Class 3 15303(d)).
