Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement number EPIMS-SBR-16740-R6, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the City of Industry as represented by Joshua Nelson. The project is limited to the installation of 60 linear feet of non-grouted rip rap to a depth of 50 feet (0.07 acres) along one section of the reservoir side of the dam face and the removal of bull and spike rush along 900 linear feet (0.10 acres) of the reservoir side of the dam face via application of aquatic-approved herbicide. The rip rap will consist of native rock 18–36-inch diameter and will mostly be placed below the water line on top of the existing dam face. Exposed rip rap will then be embedded with native soil to promote vegetative cover. No concrete or asphalt will be used. The herbicide will be applied by the Los Angeles County Agricultural Commissioner's office, under their current Qualified Applicators License, for one application cycle including an initial treatment and 2-3 follow-up treatments within a 3-month window as needed. The herbicide to be applied will be Imazapyr, an herbicide approved for aquatic use.
