Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is part of JCSD’s annual replacement program and will replace existing aged pipelines by replacing approximately 3,905 linear feet of 12-inch diameter waterline, approximately 3,922 linear feet of 8-inch waterline, approximately 3,873 linear feet of 8- inch sewer pipelines and lining of approximately 653 linear feet of 8-inch diameter sewer pipelines within the same public rights-of-way and easements.
The Class 2 Categorical Exemption is for the replacement or reconstruction of existing
structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced, including but not limited to replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity.
