Document Description
Temporary installation of 3 electric power poles with overhead power wires to feed our Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (SCVWA) Mitchell 5A Well due to existing underground power line failure and to ensure water supply to our customers. The power poles will be set on SCVWA property between the Mitchell 5A well and existing Edison service. The power poles will be installed using a truck mounted auger to drill a 5’ deep hole, approximately 1’ in diameter and back filled with native soils.

Reasons for Exemption
Based on the scope of work and because the project consists of the construction and location of a limited number of new, small structures, construction and operation of this project is found to be categorically exempt under the provisions of CEQA and the State CEQA Guidelines as described below:
• The Project, aka the whole of the action, qualifies for an exemption under CEQA guidelines Section 15303 Class 3 - construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures from one use to another where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure. Specifically Section 15303(d) Water main, sewage, electrical, gas, and other utility extensions.
