Document Description
The Shasta Valley Resource Conservation District (SVRCD) is the Lead Agency for the Parks Creek Riparian Improvement Project (Project). The Project is funded through the State Water Resources Control Board's 319(h) Non-Point Source Pollution Reduction Program. The proposed Project improvements aim to address Shasta River TMDL goals. The proposed improvements include approximately 22,500 feet of livestock exclusion fencing along the river-left bank of Parks Creek through private ranching lands. Additionally, six off-channel livestock watering systems will be constructed. The water source for the stockwater systems is an existing well on the property. Where possible, existing pipeline will be utilized to deliver the water from the well to the stockwater system. A total of 1,000 feet of riparian plantings in denuded riparian areas will help to stabilize the banks and provide shade to help reduce thermal loading from the sun.
