The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) using state funds, is proposing to create an earthen disposal site in Tehama County on State Route (SR) 36 between post mile (PM) 52.15 to 52.5 along the northbound shoulder of the highway. The project is needed because there are no disposal sites in this area of Tehama County with the capacity to take material, stumps, or large boulders. The maintenance division requires a disposal site in Tehama County along SR 36. The proposed work would occur entirely within Caltrans’ right-of-way (ROW).
