Document Description
The project consists of the installation of reheat and superheat sections at the El Centro Generating Station (power generation plant) Unit 4 steam boiler. A 3rd party inspection of the boiler found that the horizontal reheat and superheat assemblies needed to be replaced. These components allow for the improvement of the boiler’s thermal efficiency. A catastrophic failure of the reheat or superheat sections tubing could damage the boiler and presents a major safety risk to the balance of plant equipment and personnel.
