Document Description
The project is limited to excavation around the existing exposed pipeline to allow for coating removal and inspection for corrosion or damage. Following pipeline inspection, PG&E will repair the pipeline, as necessary, and then recoat the pipeline. PG&E will backfill around the exposed pipe using native fill and compact as specified by the professional engineer. An approximately 51-foot-long corrugated metal pipe (CMP) arch culvert will be installed over the previously exposed pipe segment to allow water to flow downstream of the pipeline and discharge into the existing creek. The approximately 2-foot-high by 3-footwide CMP arch culvert will be surrounded by California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Class III Rock Slope Protection (RSP). The RSP fill will allow for the hydraulic conveyance of peak flows (i.e., water levels at the top of banks) and will minimize ponding at moderate flows (i.e., the range indicated by the observed water line).
