The 30-inch slide gate and valve will be installed by hand tools after being lowered in place by an excavator. A 30-inch diameter, 6-foot-long steel pipe will be placed on the base of the conduit. A steel grate trash rack will be installed on the upstream end of the slide gate and valve to limit debris from entering the slide gate and conduit. Stabilizing bars will be installed and anchor the slide gate to the bedrock conduit walls. A grip strut walkway will be placed over the top of the gate to provide personnel access for operation and maintenance of the gate.
