Document Description
The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (D T S C), pursuant to authority granted under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 20, Section 66270.61, has issued an Emergency Permit to the Genentech SSF, (E P A ID# CAD080129000, CAR000182634, CAR000182709, CAR000075408) to treat hazardous wastes through a controlled reaction with a chemical solution. These chemicals must be stabilized prior to transport to an authorized hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facility.
These chemicals are currently being stored at Genentech SSF, located at 340 Point San Bruno Blvd., South San Francisco, CA 94080 (Building 15); 645 East Grand Ave., South San Francisco, CA 94080 (Building 48); 700 Forbes Blvd., South San Francisco, CA 94080 (Building 7); 500 Forbes Blvd., South San Francisco, CA 94080 (Building 56). D T S C has determined as a safety precaution to prevent an accident or severe injury, an Emergency Permit should be issued to chemically stabilize the hazardous waste prior to storage and eventual transportation off-site by Clean Harbors Environmental Services (Clean Harbors).
