The work to be performed is the repair of a broken 8" AC water line located underground running parallel to the Interstate 5 Northbound Freeway along the shoulder of the Exit 54B off-ramp. Due to the water line being underneath two large trees, the trees will be removed along with some brush surrounding the area.

City of Oceanside Water Utility Department Staff has completed a review of this project and finds that the proposed project constitutes the replacement or reconstruction of an existing public utility system in generally the same location and involving no expansion of use. Therefore, staff has determined that further environmental evaluation is not required per California Code of Regulations Section 15032, Class II, "Replacement or Reconstruction".
