Document Description
The California Fish and Game Commission (Commission) proposes to amend the Central Valley sport fishing regulations as set forth in Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR). The current 2021 sport fishing regulations, Section 7.40, Title 14, CCR, allow for salmon fishing in the "Central Valley fishery" for Sacramento fall-run Chinook Salmon in the American, Feather, Mokelumne, and Sacramento rivers. Each year the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (Department) evaluates the potential need to amend the existing Chinook Salmon bag and possession limits to align with management goals. Any proposed changes to the salmon fishing regulations are presented to the Commission for consideration. This project therefore proposes to potentially amend the daily bag and possession limits for the Central Valley salmon sport fishery to maintain consistency with the Department's mission to manage California's diverse fisheries resources for their ecological value, their use, and for the public's enjoyment.
