Document Description
Implement a trail system to coordinate with the bike trail and bridge connections that will be constructed, by the county, this summer 2022. The county has no funding for the park so the trail just ends at the park with no direction. A trailhead will entail the various destinations and a map designating the routes. The trails will need to be developed, so the phase I will develop a decomposed granite multi-use trail system from the bridge, along side the river past the "Group" area that will loop to the playground. Many sections along the river will need to be stabilized because of erosion. An educational outreach Pavilion will be built in the group area. This site is used by our school district and other educational organizations to educate various groups on wildlife, fisheries, watershed, rivers, forestry, fire and the ecosystem. The "Amenities" for this project will include an outdoor bathroom and picnic/BBQ area for the public. Native species will be planted to restore areas along the trail and tree seedlings will be planted in various areas to improve the forest heath. This project will be in the lower park area, which has been severely impacted by western gall rust.
