The project involved the construction two groundwater wells (Maple Wells 1 and 2) and construction of 700 linear feet of 8-inch diameter ductile iron pipe. The two groundwater wells are located in the City of Beverly Hills' Maple Yard, a city-owned property. Water produce by these wells will be conveyed to the Foothill Water Treatment Plant.

Reasons for Exemption
The location of Maple wells falls on zero priority basin (Hollywood Basin). The project also met the following requirements:(1) The project is consistent with the applicable general plan designation and all applicable general plan policies as well as with applicable zoning designation and regulations. (2) The project occurs within city limits on a project site of no more than five acres substantially surrounded by urban areas. (3) The project site has no value as habitat for endangered, rare or threatened species. (4) The project would not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality. (5) The project site can be adequately served by all required utilities and public services. Additionally, the project also complies with State CEQA Section 15300.2 - The project will not cause a substantial adverse change in significance of a historical resource.
