Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2018-0160-R4, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the applicant, Madera County Flood Control and Water Conservation Agency. The Project includes routine, recurring channel maintenance activities to maintain channel flood capacity and water conveyance throughout Madera County. Maintenance projects include vegetation mowing, herbicide application, debris and trash removal, tree trimming, and giant reed eradication

The Project will occur within the Chowchilla and Fresno Rivers, Ash and Berenda Sloughs, and Dry Creek, in central and western Madera County, California. In the Chowchilla River, Ash Slough, and Berenda Slough, the Project spans from the diversion structure upstream and east of the City of Chowchilla, westward to the Eastside Bypass Canal. The Project in Dry Creek spans from the Madera Canal and confluence of Daulton Creek approximately five miles northeast of the community of Madera Acres, westward to the Fresno River at Road 16. The Project in the Fresno River spans from the railroad crossing near Raymond Road (Road 28 1/2) and Highway 145 east of the City of Madera, westward to the Eastside Bypass Canal.
