Document Description
The project request is a grading permit for the Stone Lakes Restoration Project (project). Although located within the Stone Lakes NWR boundary, the central 45-acre seasonal wetland enhancement and restoration project area is privately owned and managed by the Serra Family Trust (Serra Property). The other project enhancement and restoration areas are owned by the USFWS, including project activities proposed within Headquarters units 7b, 8a, 8b, and 9 on the north side of the Stone Lakes NWR and in Ponds 1 and 7-11 in the Sun River Unit, located on the southern side of the Stone Lakes NWR. The County of Sacramento is serving as the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Lead Agency for a proposed grading permit for the project. USFWS is serving as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Lead Agency for proposed improvements within the NWR.
