Document Description
The Apple Campus Repaint Project (the “Project”) consists of a Minor Design Review for façade improvements to the existing buildings and accessory structures of the Apple Elk Grove Campus. The proposed improvements consist of repainting as well as minor maintenance repairs on exterior walls required for the paint preparation. No expansion of the use or buildings are proposed with this application.

Reasons for Exemption
Staff has determined that the Project is exempt from CEQA pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (Existing Facilities). Section 15301 applies to projects that consist of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency’s determination. The Project involves façade improvements to repaint an existing commercial center with no expansions of use or physical site improvements as part of this application. All public services and facilities are available, and the area is not considered environmentally sensitive. Staff reviewed the proposed Project and did not find any evidence that special circumstances exist that would create a reasonable possibility that the proposed Project will have a significant adverse effect on the environment. Therefore, the proposed Project qualifies for the exemption under State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301
