Document Description
The Sobrante Water Treatment Plant (SOWTP) primarily serves customers in El Sobrante, Richmond, Pinole, Hercules, Rodeo, Crockett, and San Pablo. The purpose of the SOWTP Reliability Improvements Project is to increase the treatment capacity of the SOWTP to reliably meet future demand, treat supplement supply from the Sacramento River via the Freeport Regional Water Project during droughts, reduce disinfection by-products, and improve treatment processes. Phase 1 includes replacement and installation of facilities to restore SOWTP capacity to 60 million gallons per day (MGD) and demolition of aging facilities. Phase 2 includes installation of facilities to increase capacity further to 80 MGD plus installation of large-diameter pipelines along La Honda Road, D Avila Way, San Pablo Dam Road, El Portal Drive, Rollingwood Drive, and Road 20.
