Document Description
Pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines, and acting as lead agency, the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board (Lahontan Water Board) is circulating an Initial Study (IS) for public comment. The IS was prepared to assess the potential environmental impacts associated with adoption of general waste discharge requirements (WDRs) for the purposes of regulating the discharges of waste produced during in-situ and ex-situ groundwater remediation projects. Based on our evaluation of the environmental factors potentially affected, the Lahontan Water Board finds the proposed project will not have a significant effect on the environment and a Negative Declaration (ND) has been prepared.
