Document Description
The Department of Fish and Wildlife is issuing a permit to Humboldt State University pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 2081(a) for research purposes. The Section 2081(a) permit authorizes the applicant to take Longfin Smelt, Coho Salmon, and steelhead trout during the course sampling, subject to terms and conditions set forth in the permit. The purpose of this sampling is for research and educational opportunities for students. The Section 2081(a) permit authorizes the applicant to potentially capture Longfin Smelt, Coho Salmon, and steelhead trout during surveys. The applicant will conduct year round sampling of nearshore and coastal water fishes and invertebrates through the use of hook and line, beach seine, bottom trawl, light trap, cast net, fyke net, baited remote underwater video cameras, midwater trawls, hand nets, and SMURFS from January 31, 2022 through January 31, 2025.
