Document Description
The Project is part of the District’s program to remove old water mains that have reached the end of their useful life and replace them with pipes that meet the District’s standards. District standards include the replacement of steel/asbestos concrete pipes with polyethylene-wrapped Ductile Iron Pipe, appropriately sizing segments as necessary, and providing a minimum of 3-feet of cover above all pipe. In addition, the Project will be replacing the connected water services and restoration of the impacted roadway portions.

The project will involve existing water mains that have reached the end of their lifespan. The Project will repair 4,429-feet of existing pipeline and install 776-feet of new pipeline within public streets, which totals less than a mile in length. A small segment of pipeline (72 feet) would be constructed outside the roadway using horizontal directional drilling.
