Document Description
The project will protect and restore 190 acres of the Ackerson Meadow complex which includes main Ackerson and South Ackerson. The total area of restoration activities (grading footprint) is 28.25 acres, and the total project size is 79.25 acres including borrow and staging areas. The project will employ a “Stage 0” or full gully-fill approach to restoration. Fully filling the erosion gully network will restore the meadow’s pre-disturbance geomorphology, which will then result in a cascading restoration of site hydrologic and ecological process as groundwater tables are elevated, erosive flood energy is spread and dispersed, and dense wetland vegetation becomes established to anchor soil.
