Document Description
Water Authority staff discovered Pipeline 4 to have wire breaks in the pre-stressing wire indicating potential destressed pipe requiring replacement. The project will replace approximately 48 linear feet of Pipeline 4, an existing 90 - inch diameter Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP) on the Second San Diego Aqueduct. Replacement consists of removing existing PCCP and installing welded steel pipe in excavated access measuring approximately 90 feet long by 50 feet wide. Personnel and equipment access will also be made through structures along the pipeline alignment to support the work. Work will be confined to non-sensitive vegetation communities within the Water Authority’s ROW and temporary construction easements to be used for construction staging and access. Work will occur 24-hours a day for a period of seven days.
