Document Description
The proposed project will operate a distribution operation out of an existing facility located at 440 LOWER GRASS VALLEY RD, SUITE C, NEVADA CITY, CA 95959(-3116) (APN). The applicant has proposed a 1,140 sq. ft. facility to operate a cannabis distribution business. Hours of operation are proposed to be 10am to 6pm, seven days per week. Daily trips are anticipated to amount to one to five per day. Only one to two distribution vehicle will be used to conduct the distribution operation in the beginning with possible expansion up to five distribution vehicles. The applicant will contract with a licensed cannabis waste disposal company for monthly pick-ups of cannabis waste. Employee needs will begin with one to two employees with a goal of two to five employees as the business grows. Peak employee operation on the premises is anticipated to be two to three employees.

Reasons for Exemption
The Department of Cannabis Control has determined that the project is a Class 1 Categorical Exemption Project. Class 1 Categorical Exemptions consist of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alterations to existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency’s determination. The Project involves the use of an existing industrial building which was formerly used as a previous cannabis facility with no proposal for building expansion. The design, location, size, and operating characteristics of the Project are compatible with the existing and future land uses within the vicinity as it is zoned light industrial zoned. None of the exceptions to the exemption defined in Section 15300.2 apply to the Project.
