Document Description
The proposed project consists of planting of twelve (12) 24-inch box, mature trees which include four (4) island oak trees, four (4) western sycamore trees, and four (4) Queensland kauri trees, a two-year forest maintenance plan, and donor recognition signage. This project align with the goals of the City’s Green New Deal by providing multiple environmental benefits, such as air quality improvements, increasing biodiversity and wildlife habitat areas, increasing tree canopy coverage and shade, mitigating urban heat island effects, and supporting groundwater recharge.

The proposed Project consists of planting of new trees and placement of a plaque, on City property managed by a department with Board-adopted sign policy, therefore, it is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Article III, Section 1, Class 4(3) and Class 11(5) of City CEQA Guidelines and Article 19, Section 15304(b) and 15311(a) of California CEQA Guidelines. None of the limitations set forth in State CEQA Guidelines 15300.2 apply.
