Document Description
This project will replace 30 original steps on the northern section of the Santa Ynez hiking trail in Topanga State Park which were burned by the Palisades Fire in May 2021. Drainage dips and water bars will be cleared and reestablished to provide for improved water flow off the trail. Reinstallation of the Santa Ynez trail steps will reestablish safe trail access through some of the steeper grades of the trail alignment while limiting soil erosion and displacement from hikers climbing through these sections.
