Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), District 3, proposes to restore and upgrade existing vista at two locations. The project is located at post mile 31.59 on State Route 20 in Nevada County and post mile 5.15 on State Route 89 in Sierra County. The work would occur within existing right-of-way. At Jefferson Vista Point (Nevada 20), the project proposes to replace the graphic and paint the frames of the informative sign panels, repair the stonework and remove graffiti from the existing stone wall, replace the ADA parking sign, and restripe the parking stalls and ADA striping. At the Kyburz Meadow Vista Point (Sierra 89), the project proposes to replace informative sign panels graphics and paint pedestal frames for the informative sign panels.
The project is needed because the vista points in their current condition do not meet their intended benefit to the traveling public.
