After review and analysis, Staff made a preliminary determined that the project qualifies for a categorical exemption from CEQA. The specific exemptions are to Section 15301, Class 1: Existing Facility and Section 15302, Class 2: Replacement & Reconstruction. The proposed request simply involves the consideration to extend the permit term of an existing facility and replacement of existing outdated wireless telecommunication equipment with more advance equipment. Additionally, the project site is not listed on the Hazardous Waste and Substance Site List (Cortese List) as set forth in Government Code Section 65962.5.
