Document Description
The proposed project will provide safe drinking water from KCWD to the Cache Creek Mobile Home Estates and Creekside Mobile Home Park. The Creekside Mobile Home Park was added following the Cache Fire in August 2021. Both Cache Creek and Creekside mobile home parks are within KCWD’s sphere of influence and are in the process of being annexed into the service area. The project includes installing 3,500 feet of 8-inch PVC water pipe in Dam Road to connect the Cache Creek Mobile Home Estates to the KCWD water distribution system. The Creekside Mobile Home Park is situated along the pipeline route and will be connected to the new pipeline via a two-inch diameter service and meter. The new pipeline will be installed in Dam Road from the Cache Creek Mobile Home Estates entrance west to the Dam Road/Konocti Avenue intersection. Continuing west beyond Lake Street, the proposed project will replace an existing 4-inch diameter pipe in Dam Road with a new 8-inch diameter pipe. The pipeline will be installed by open-trenching methods aligned through a narrow corridor and beneath the existing asphalt surface in Dam Road. The water pipeline will be placed in accordance with State standards generally 10 feet horizontally away from an existing sewer pipeline that is also located within the Dam Road alignment. The trench depth will be approximately 49-inches and the width approximately 24-inches. The trench surface will be repaved to match existing west of Lake Street where the existing asphalt road is acceptable. A road surface asphalt overlay will be placed east of Lake Street where the asphalt road has deteriorated. Excavation and other construction activities will be limited to the existing roadway corridor and be conducted with respect to sensitive cultural resources concerns. In this regard, the project also includes cultural resources monitoring of the excavations and off-site placement of sensitive soil materials. An Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration has been prepared and KCWD will be publishing it for public comment.
