Document Description
The project includes design and construction of upgrading three uncontrolled crosswalks with enhanced crosswalk features. The proposed improvements will include enhanced crosswalk features including solar powered rectangular rapid flashing beacons, high visibility crosswalks, advance yield lines, high visibility signage, and advance pavement markings. Furthermore, the mid-block crosswalk on Downs Street will be enhanced with solar powered rectangular rapid flashing beacons in the center median island to supplement the existing rectangular rapid flashing beacons, high visibility signage, and pavement markings at this location.
The crosswalk upgrades will be installed at the following locations:
1. Ridgecrest Boulevard at Alvord Street;
2. Ridgecrest Boulevard at Sanders Street;
3. Mid-block crosswalk on Downs Street between Church Avenue and Upjohn Avenue.
The project has independent utility and will not require future construction to function; it does not require new right-of-way and does not involve landscaping activities that use known invasive plant species. All work is within City right-of-way
