Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is proposing to conduct investigative geotechnical drillings in order to provide subsurface data for the future construction of a roadway materials testing laboratory. The proposed laboratory is located on Assessor Parcel Number 008-220-05 (owned by Los Angeles Department of Water and Power) in the City of Bishop. The operation will involve locating and drilling 4 boreholes to a max depth of 30 feet below the ground surface to collect subsurface information. All borings will be sealed with cement slurry or a mixture of cement and bentonite slurry. The drilling will take approximately 2 to 3 days to complete. All drilling cuttings and waste will be stored off site.
