Document Description
Sacramento Valley Energy Center, LLC (applicant) is proposing to construct, operate, and decommission an approximately 200-megawatt (MW) alternating current (AC) photovoltaic (PV) solar energy generating facility and associated 4-hour/100 MW AC battery energy storage system (BESS) on parcels that total approximately 2,700 acres in the Cosumnes community of unincorporated Sacramento County. The project is generally located south of U.S. Route 50, northwest of Rancho Murieta, southeast of the Prairie City State Vehicle Recreation Area (PCSVRA), and south of White Rock Road in the Cosumnes community. Specifically, it is located on what is known as the “Barton Ranch” adjacent to 3830 Scott Road. Approval of the proposed Coyote Creek Agrivoltaic Ranch (project) would result in the construction, operation, and eventual decommissioning of solar-energy generation, energy storage, and electrical distribution facilities. The project parcels would be developed with solar panel arrays and ancillary facilities, energy storage facilities, an electrical substation, internal roads, retention basins, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, generation tie (gen-tie) line, and switchyard connecting to the regional power grid. The electrical power provided by the project would be supplied to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) using existing, adjacent SMUD high-voltage lines.
