Document Description
Repair storm damage to “Section Z” of the Hearst San Simeon SHM approach road including stabilization of the steep eroded slope below the road and installation of drainpipe. Work will: - Excavate bench cuts at 3-ft to 5-ft vertical intervals. - Excavate a 60-ft long, 5-ft deep, & 1-ft wide trench to install a concrete header wall. - Install perforated drainpipes on the cut benches. - Backfill with excavated soils and compact. - Install erosion control, natural, fiber netting consisting of coconut or jute fiber and fiber rolls/straw wattles made of natural materials with no plastic or photodegradable material. - Apply hydroseed with bonded fiber matrix below and above the erosion control. All project work will comply with California Public Resources Code, the California Fish and Game Code, the Endangered Species Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and the Secretary of Interior standards for the preservation and treatment of historic resources.
