Document Description
The Turlock Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) was developed to achieve the sustainability goals of the Turlock Subbasin by 2042 and to avoid undesirable results over the remainder of the 50-year planning horizon. The Turlock Subbasin GSP presents a variety of projects that utilize water from various sources, including but not limited to surface water, stormwater and reclaimed water, for direct and in-lieu groundwater recharge. Projects can be generally categorized as either urban and municipal or agricultural projects, and incorporate the use of new (e.g., treatment facilities, pipelines) or existing (e.g., canals, pipelines, reservoirs) infrastructure to enhance water supply. The Turlock Subbasin GSP also identifies management actions to be implemented in conjunction with projects. These include: demand reduction strategies, such as voluntary conservation and/or farmland fallowing; pumping management, such as a groundwater extraction reporting program and a groundwater allocation and pumping management program; and, a domestic well mitigation program. The Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) analyzes resources that may be affected by implementation of the projects and management actions in the Turlock Subbasin GSP.
